about
Marceline
Marceline Amaris is a Turkish-born, Austin-based comedian, clown, and producer known for bringing bold, chaotic energy and heartfelt absurdity to the stage. With roots in stand up, improv, and physical theatre, Marceline creates performances that blur the line between comedy and catharsis.
I once made a man on his first date scream like a little girl by squirting nipple milk at him.
Although it was clearly a chest plate and two syringes, he feared me because I am restless and innovative.
I quickly won his heart back by asking him to gently hold me in front of everyone, including his date.
“I play the game.
What game, you ask?
All of them. “
The game of winning your love, making you jealous, making you scream, cry, fear, commit, love again, the game of no game, the game of all games ever.
Training and Growth
Marceline has studied with renowned teachers, including Budi Miller of Theatre of Others and Aitor Basauri of SpyMonkey. Their mentorship deepened Marceline’s devotion to presence, vulnerability, and the beauty of failure. Those lessons fueled years of performing across the country, creating experimental shows that celebrate risk, honesty, and the joyful mess of being human.
Shows and Projects
Marceline is the creator and host of Clown Garden, described by the Austin Chronicle’s Qmmunity as “an experimental, high-energy playground for Austin’s funniest weirdos.” She also produced Disaster Show, a high-stakes, anything goes comedy experience that thrives on audience connection and spontaneous chaos.
Marceline’s work has been featured by Comedy Wham, KOOP Radio, and The Austin Chronicle, who called her “a rising force in Austin’s comedy scene” known for fearless character work and performances that leave audiences laughing, squirming, and feeling something real.
Creative Voice
As a producer, Marceline makes feral, deranged comedy: wigs, blood, boobs, and a big smile as the curtains close.
She describes her stand-up act as “therapy but worse,” channeling chaos and confession into moments that feel uncomfortably human.
As a clown, she invites the audience to watch them fail beautifully (charging admission to witness the disaster unfold.)
Philosophy
Marceline believes that comedy should never feel safe. It should make you laugh, flinch, and then laugh again. Whether crafting unforgettable characters, leading interactive performances, or stirring up mischief in Austin’s comedy scene, Marceline Amaris brings a playful, rebellious spirit to every project. Her work lives somewhere between joy and fear, always chasing the spark that happens when people laugh at what they don’t quite understand.
